Through this I cordially greet you as president of the Association for Conservation and Development Tipishca Cocama San Pablo - ACODECOSPAT, which brings together indigenous communities living in the Maranon basin.
We are now in the city of Iquitos on the occasion of the oil spill of June 19 in Saramuro. More than 45 apus that we are in the city we are representing our communities, because of finding and managing solutions to alleviate the crisis that we suffer because of the Marañón river pollution, source material and spiritual life. Given the delay, uncertainty and abandonment of public authorities and the company responsible for the spill PLUSPETROL, we have been forced to settle temporarily in the city to find a solution to the immediate and long-term problems we face ecological disaster occurred before the .
At this time of crisis and sacrifice, we went to his office to request a voluntary support to our struggle. Currently we do not have ideal conditions for food, mobilize and spend the night in the city, a fact which concerns us as many days still lie ahead and dialogue management.
