Red Ambiental Loretana

The natives of the Tigre River have their own organization “FEPIBAT”. Unfortunately nota ll who work in their Iquitos office are loyal to the natives. A non-native so-called “adviser” has spoken to the press denying the latest denouncements made by native leaders about the deaths and sickness caused to the Marsella native community. The community’s leader came to Iquitos ten days ago to formally denounce the Pluspetrol company for the damage that has been done to his community and the river. There have been three similar cases denounced this year in the same river. What a  pity that the natives – hundreds of kilometers away and ignorant of what the press are being told are being betrayed by someone who is obviously being motivated by other interests.
